Acadia Track Daze 2007(last update on June 10th)
With regret, The 2007 Acadia Track Daze has been canceled due to a lack of registrants.
On July 7 – 8, 2007 we will hold our third annual Track
Daze Driver Education Weekend (DEW) at Atlantic Motorsport Park
in Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia.
What is a DEW?
An Acadia Region Driver Education Weekend is a fun way
to hone your driving skills and learn about the performance of your Porsche in a controlled environment.
Driving your Porsche as the engineers who designed it intended it to be driven
is fun and exciting to the point of being addictive.
DEWs are about increasing driving knowledge, skills and techniques through instruction,
exposure and practice.
DEWs are not racing schools. They are not about competition or practice for competition.
Advanced driving techniques cannot be safely taught on
streets or highways. Acadia region DEWs are held on the 1.6-mile closed-course
of Atlantic Motorsport Park in Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia.
On this course you will learn and practice advanced driving skills accompanied
by an experienced instructor.
Learning proceeds at your pace. No one will press you to try things before you are ready.
SAFETY IS OUR MAIN CONCERN

You may cancel at any time. However, no refunds will be
granted after July 15, 2006.
Should the event itself be cancelled prior to the scheduled
date, full refunds will be sent out. If the event is cancelled after a car has
been on the track, no refunds will be issued.
Technical Inspections
For the safety of yourself and your instructor, all vehicles
regardless of age must undergo a technical safety inspection by a mechanic, no
more than two weeks prior to the event. This inspection is not a provincial
MVI, although it may be a good opportunity to have your MVI done at the same
time.
All vehicles must have brake fluid that is less than 6 months old and the system
bled prior to the event.
Full details of the technical regulations governing the event and the inspection \
forms are linked below and should be reviewed prior to the event:

An Important Note on Helmets and Fire Extinguishers
There has been a change to the helmet requirements. All helmets must now meet
one of the following standards:
SNELL Foundation: SA2000, M2000, SA2005, M2005
British Standards Institute (BSI): BS6658-85 A/FR
Your helmet will be inspected at the track for the appropriate certification.
A 2.5lb fire extinguisher with a metal bracket mounted
securely metal-to-metal is required. This requirement will be waived for first
time participants.
